Community Development

The Community Development committee is charged with the following:

• Select career chair: This position develops a relationship with the Career Connections staff person in Career Services.  The chair helps to publicize career-related events and plans some evnets specifically for the class.
• Select Class Council liaison: The Class Council liaison reads through the minutes of each councils' meetings and announces events and other importatn information to their council.  This person also attends meetings with the other Class Council liaisons once a month to coordinate university-wide between classes events.
• Plan community service events: Spearhead community service events both for the class and the council in order to give back to the Burlington and Vermont communities.
• Plan academic events: Coordinate academic/educational events for the class.  Work with the faculty, community, etc.
• Outreach: Outreach to campus clubs and organizations to intiate support of campus-wide events.
• Encourage council members to attend ongoing events.  Encourage partnerships with other groups to plan co-sponsored events.
• Plan health and well-being events: Develop a relationship with offices within the Center for Health and Well-Being in order to plan health-encouraging events for the class.
