Corporate & Foundation Giving

The University of Vermont Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations works in close consultation with faculty and staff in all schools, colleges, centers, programs, and institutes of the University to develop productive and lasting relationships with corporate and foundation funders. Our primary objective is to develop funding proposals that reflect University priorities and the creative and innovative thinking of our faculty, students, staff, and administration.

The Office of Corporate & Foundation Relations, an integral division of Development & Alumni Relations, assumes responsibility for the following functions:

Identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporate and foundation prospects. 

Matching corporate and foundation interests with University capital and programmatic priorities.

Assisting faculty, deans, directors, and other University personnel in formulating programs and projects that are attractive to prospective corporate and foundation donors. 

Writing and/or editing letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications to corporations and foundations.

Monitoring and maintaining campus relationships with corporate and foundation representatives.

Assessing trends in corporate and foundation philanthropic initiatives and analyzing the potential impact on the University.

Integrating corporate and foundation fundraising strategies with the overall funding objectives and mission of the University and coordinating these activities with the Office of Sponsored Programs.
