Homecoming & Family Weekend - Schedule of Events
ALL WEEKEND
Robert Hull Fleming Museum
Fall 2008 Exhibitions at the Fleming Museum
Architectural Improvisation: A History of Vermont’s Design/Build Tradition 1964-1977 documents this radical architectural movement characterized by organic forms, improvisational processes, hands-on methods, and natural materials. Pre-dating the back-to-the-land movement but motivated by the same values and principles, the Design/Build movement focused on a new mediatory role for architecture both in creating community and in the then-newly charged relationship between humans and the environment. Models, photographs, and archival materials tell the story.
Buddha in Paradise, a loan exhibition from the Rubin Museum in New York City, includes paintings depicting the concept of “paradise” in Tibetan Buddhism.
Participant Politics: The Collection of Roz Payne, includes items from the personal archives of local and national activist and film-maker Roz Payne, from posters to documents to political buttons from the 1960s to the present.
Complimentary admission for all alumni, parents, and students.
