I’m an account manager at Clear Channel Entertainment Properties, a small division of the largest live entertainment corporation in the world. We are a sales and marketing group responsible for monetizing our vast portfolio of entertainment assets, (music events, motor sports events, and theatrical events). I oversee the management and execution of several sponsorship programs including all of the sponsors on Ozzfest, (the largest and most profitable touring festival in the world). In addition to Ozzfest, I also oversee our Miller business, which entails sponsorships at 11 of our 42 owned and operated amphitheaters across the country. I also work with Miller to execute their custom tours, (mini tours that are fully customized based on client needs). Last year we developed the MGD Pure Night Out tour, which was a three city tour consisting of five shows per market. Artists included Snoop Dogg, Trapt, Seether, Cypress Hill, Ludacris, Chevelle, Busta Rhymes and others. We are currently working to develop a similar tour for this summer.
The meaning of the phrase "giving back to others" differs from person to person. Some may donate cans to a food shelter, others pull up their sleeves for a blood drive, and others simply cut a check. To one 2003 UVM graduate, however, giving back to others is a way of life.
